A Creative Life

Ian is a Scottish artist who trained at the Glasgow School of Art in illustration and design, however his creative design skills took him down the advertising path where ideas are king and you’re only as good as your next campaign. 

His passion for drawing and painting has never left him and this is evidenced in his hallmark illustration style. Over the years he has been very grateful for the opportunities that his patrons have given him. This is clearly seen in his work on this site.

His Medium

Depending on the subject and the commission, Ian’s work is predominately painted in acrylics. However there are many pieces created in pencil as the artist believes when drawing, it is important to create light and shade using several different weights of lead pencil to ‘paint’ the subject.

His paintings here showcase his use of an intense colour palette making them truly shine with intensity and realism.
